So, I know I have slacked on the blogging front and the people want their pictures. So here you go. For those of you who want to read, welcome and please continue on.
Well Xavi had his 2 month doctor's visit on the 27th of February. We got his weight, length/height, and head circumference. Following is a numbers comparison from his first visit (1/9/09, his second visit (1/26/09), and his doctor's visit from a couple days ago.
Weight:
1st: 7 pounds 2 ounces (25%) 2nd: 9 pounds 3 ounces (50%) 3rd: 11 pounds 13 ounces (75%)
Length:
1st: 20.5 inches (60%) 2nd: 21.5 inches (50%) 3rd: 24 inches (80%)
Head Circumference:
1st: 36.2 cm (50%) 2nd: 37.2 cm (50%) 3rd: 40 cm(77%)
I wasn't worried about his size ever, but it seems that he is growing into his genetic potential. We were worried he was going to be dwarfed by his cousin but if he keeps up the pace he is on he will be able to hold his own.
Moving on, the past two weeks have been a week of firsts and we thought we would share some of those with you all.
-Xavi's first road trip occurred over the weekend of February 21st. We headed up to Chicago to celebrate Xavi's second cousin Owen's birthday. (For those wanting to debate the "first cousin/second cousin" issue please read here for clarification.) It was a great trip and Xavi did awesome. It was different for Amie and I as we had to stop a couple times to feed him and change him. Changing him in the car was quite the experience. The fact that it was below freezing made it a challenge, as well that Xavi likes to move around when his clothes come off. He had a great time and loved meeting all of his family.
-Xavi got his first set of shots. It was quite traumatic for Amie as the nurse gave him his shots. He is doing much better. We had to give him a little tylenol, but he's a trooper. Right after the shots we fed him and he quickly calmed down. We just don't want to teach him to to eat to cope with the difficulties of life.
-Xavi attended his first baby shower. Matt and Vicki are having a daughter and Vicki came home for a while. It was great to see her and her cute belly! Xavi was quite smitten with her as he looked at her with his memorizing blue eyes and let her rock him to sleep.
-Xavi had his first park visit. Close to our home is Creve Coeur Park, Amie grew up hanging out here and it is becoming a family favorite place to be. While there we were happily eating our lunch when we had a Rachel encounter with strangers. This older gentleman sat with us and began talking of how terrible the economy was and how Obama is going to fix it. Then his wife sat down and with her thick Eastern European accent began sharing with us about how their daughter-in-law is going to have a baby. She then proceeded to tell us our son was very smart. At the time he was eating a bottle. Hmmm....we knew he was a genius!
-Xavi's first awesome night's sleep! He slept for 9 hours!
-Xavi's first outfits retired. He is no longer in newborn clothes and has even moved on to a few 3-6 months outfits. Pretty soon he is going to be walking and talking!

I am glad that the little man is fulfilling his genetic potential. he needs to catch his cousin. because right now she is running away with the "biggest/thickest/most robust baby on the block" award. she is a tank. I think she might play middle line backer soon. (but we love her and wouldn't change a thing about her!) we are really looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend!
First of all, thanks for posting.
Second of all, until somebody pops out an eyeball, it's not a Rachel encounter. What you experienced was a lovely chat with some strangers in the park. That's sort of like an Amy (my friend who once gave away my copy of The Shack to this woman she randomly had a conversation with on the bus.) encounter.
Thirdly, you should really warn people that there is a close-up of Jeff's hairy nipple in that album.
Fourthly, I LOVE the poses you did with Xavi. It is both fun to do, and fun to see the results. Perhaps Auntie Wachel can coordinate a photo shoot the next time she's in town.
Los is falling behind with all this travelling....
It was good to see bear-bear again....i thought he was no longer......glad he is still around......
I guess Neuz is on the computer 24x7...that's how she beat me ....
It was good to see Victoria and everyone that came to the "communion"...much miracle of Cana was consumed....I wish we could have that type of gathering every sunday afternoon/eveneing...
