Xavi is 16 Weeks!!!!

Jeff: We have been terrible historians of Xavi's life . We really are bad at capturing, storing, and writing every moment of our son's already remarkable life. Luckily the position of "Xavi Historian" does not come down to a vote, otherwise we may lose to Kelly from 2nd hour, she is pretty good at all that.

But in all seriousness Xavi has been growing leaps and bounds. He is becoming quite vocal and speaks quite frequently except when we pull out a camera, that seems to be something he may need to work on for his modeling career to take off. He has no problems with speaking out (quite loudly) whenever either of us are on the phone.

He seems to enjoy our drives and walks and puts up with them like a champ. I'll let Amie take over from here.

Amie:
Sorry to all blog readers that our blog has been left alone for so long. I was looking at pictures from birth on and it is so amazing how he has grown from such a little guy into what he is today and he still has so much growing left to do. So much has been happening let me try to remember it all for you.
He is very much into the baby babble right now and we love it. He talks to his "friends" (stuffed animals on his car seat) all the time. We have a baby Einstein gym and Jeff has taught him how to make the motion sensor make it sing to him. So smart! He seems to be growing like a weed, clothes will make an appearance on him only once and then must be put away for the next child. When he flashes a smile and looks at us with those blue eyes we melt.

Xavi has been going on many walks all over St. Louis and has even visited the zoo once. He is now getting much more interested in his toys and is grabbing at them and eating them. He too is becoming a drool monster, bibs are now a must. The other day I was talking a picture of him on his stomach and he lifted up very high when he saw the camera. We still do baby yoga to calm him down and it helps him to relieve his gas.

Last night we went to dinner with the fam and our friend Michelle came with us, before we left he was not in the best mood Michelle got in the car and he began smiling at her and talking rather loudly. We then get to the restaurant and Xav is putting on the charm smiling and cooing at everyone and even stretching his feet on the table, boy what a charmer. He loves to be pulled up from a laying down on the ground to a standing position. We count 1, 2 , 3 and then pull him up. Now when we begin counting he scrunches his shoulders and brings his legs into his stomach in anticipation of being pulled up.

Xavi’s new dimensions:
Weight—16.1 pounds (80% )
Length—26 in. (80%)
Head Circumference 43.3 cm (78%)

Xavi had to get his next round of immunizations as well. He did great for the first shot did not even notice, then for the next ones he screamed. The nurse did a great job, but was not very fast , so we were wondering if he would not been so mad if she would have been a little quicker. After he shots we quickly fed him and once he calmed down and ate he was smiling at us. Driving to the doctors I was almost crying just thinking about the pain that Xavi was about to endure as he happily sat in his car seat talking to his friends.

Jeff: He ended up getting through the day and is back to his normal jovial self. He had a big picture day, today, and we will post some of those when we get them. Other than that, take a look at some of the new ones… We will do better. Jeff and Amie for Xavi 2010 Class Historian!!!

Lil blue eyes sure is getting cute. That is quite an impressive stuffed animal collection for one so young...it might someday rival the famed collection of Auntie Wachel (but hopefully he doesn't get a dust mite allergy requiring all of his 'friends' to be stuffed in the freezer once a month). You guys will have to get him one of those nets that hangs in the corner of his bedroom to contain them all :)

I'm blanking on a caption, but I agree that the photo needs one.

see, updates are not difficult said...

love the pix...my favorite is the wachel inspired stuff animal set, especially the one of Joff (although, I am uncertain of what exactly that shirt-blouse thing is you are wearing)...

can't wait for the cousins to "play" in the sand.

Owen loves looking at pictures of Xavi and is constantly showing him his toys through the screen. He is getting so cute. Can't wait to see him again. Have some more "stuff" for you if you want. Looks like he's growing up FAST!!!! Have fun and hopefully see you soon.
